Practical Tips for Posture

How can this event help me?

Understanding posture can play a significant role in reducing aches and pains, easing tension, and supporting smoother, pain-free movement—especially for those managing conditions like back pain, neck pain, or inflammatory conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). Join Exercise Physiologist Sarah Comensoli and Physiotherapist Belinda Prince for our first Lifestyle Event of 2025, where they'll share evidence-based, practical strategies to help you optimise your posture and improve your quality of life.

In this session, Sarah and Belinda will cover:

  • Understanding Posture and Alignment: Discover how posture influences your body’s natural alignment, bodily functions and mobility. Learn how optimised alignment reduces strain on muscles and joints, fostering comfort and movement. Learn about the connection between posture, balance, and overall physical health.
  • Recognising Postural Patterns: Explore daily habits and movement patterns that shape posture, such as how you sit, stand, and move. Sarah and Belinda will highlight ways to refine these habits to create a foundation for healthier and more balanced movement.
  • Everyday Posture Tips: Gain practical insights into maintaining posture in your daily routine. Learn how to adjust your workstation ergonomics, stand confidently, and sit comfortably, with tips to stay mindful of your posture throughout the day.
  • Posture and Physical Activity: Understand the role of posture in enhancing physical activity and exercise. Discover how to maintain proper form during workouts to boost efficiency, protect your joints, and get the most from your efforts.
  • Interactive Demonstrations: Practice guided stretches and strengthening exercises to improve flexibility and support postural muscles. Sarah and Belinda will walk you through techniques that you can incorporate into your daily routine to maintain better posture long-term.

This event is designed for anyone looking to refine their posture and find strategies to move through life with greater ease—whether you're managing back pain, arthritis, or just seeking improvement. Join our live virtual event at 8pm Wednesday 5th February. Like all our lifestyle events, we will welcome questions and discussion so we can all hear and learn from each other.
