Many women who fall pregnant are unsure about what exercise to do, and how much during the exciting time.
Often there is a lot going on when you find out you are pregnant, and exercise may fall off your priority list. There are a lot of physical changes happening to the body, and this, combined with altered exercise regimes mean that many women unfortunately suffer with lower back and pelvic pain.
Sports Medicine Australia, has just released a new position statement helping pregnant women understand what is safe and unsafe.
It’s clear and easy to read, and encourages pregnant women to continue regular exercise during this time. This is important for women who were previously active, but also for those that have been inactive prior to falling pregnant.
