Our HerOes team from work were back at it again. This time they registered for the infamous Buffalo Stampede, apparently Australia’s hardest marathon.
The weekend just passed saw Chloe, Belinda and John (Belinda’s husband) complete an arduous 26km event which was made worse as the competition organisers increased the distance by 6.5km.
That’s right, a 25% increase, not really the extra “value” you want post registration. What a wonderful job they did despite spending an extra hour out on the mountains!
After two days of reflection, the scene was set for a titanic marathon on the Sunday. Sarah, Hans and Errol had put their hands up for this not knowing that the climbs they would be doing would be as steep as they were.
Some 7 hours later, they would trickle to the finish line with only 7 minutes between all three of them. A wonderful team effort which saw them take out the “most successful” team award.
Great reward for the months of training and hours of pain felt on the course. It was a total team effort, from the support crew to those who ran on Friday , making it another memorable HerOes campaign.
