I recently wrote a blog about the positive health effects fish oil supplements can have on your health, but one thing we didn’t discuss was the health benefits of fish itself.
Nearly all my clients have heard me harp on about fish and why it is so great, but what specifically is so great about eating fish?
Secondly, fish is a great source of lean protein, which we all know is essential for muscle development, statiety, skin, growth and repair.
Furthermore, fish consumption has been shown to relieve the symptoms of various inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
Finally, consumption of fish can improve brain function. Consumption of omega 3s has been shown to improve cognitive function even in healthy individuals, and can also help reduce or prevent depressive symptoms. Furthermore, consumption of fish once per week can help prevent dementia.
The heart foundation recommends 2-3 serves of fish per week; make the time to fit that in, and watch your body reap the benefits! How do you include yours?
