Some of you may be asking “Why Skype?” Here are a few key reasons why I believe this type of consult can be so effective when working with clients.

Firstly, one of the biggest barriers my clients report when making changes is time. I know that you are busy, you have friends and family, a job, and a life outside of coming to see me. But I know that you also know that that appointment with the dietitian is an important part of helping you reach your goal to become healthier. So we decided to ‘cut out the middle man’ so to speak; if you do not need to travel to see me, that can save a big chunk of the day. Especially in Sydney traffic! Less time needed to set aside for the appointment means more time with those you love, or doing what you love.

Secondly, and I have already touched on it: Distance. For some of you, travelling to see us may not be an option. Maybe you live in a rural area? Or on the other side of the country? Maybe you regularly travel for work so cannot commit to regular appointments? Maybe you don’t have a dietitian who lives close by, or have one who specializes in your condition. Again, we want to make this as painless for you as possible, and ensure that you are getting the care you want and need.

Thirdly, we want to make it easy for you. As our current clients know, we want to make your journey to improved health as simple as possible. The easier it is to get the information and skills you need, the more likely you are to achieve your goals.

Yes, there are a few downsides to these types of consults, but I firmly believe that this is a great way of getting the assistance you need, whilst making the consult work for you. If you want some more information on what is involved in Skype consults, please click here.
