Our Parramatta DEXA Bone Density Scanner

New Exercise Physiology Consults packaged with Body Composition Testing

Our exercise physiology initial consults now incorporate Body Composition Scans as part of the consult.

The total consult will now last 60 minutes and included in this is a thorough assessment outlining your goals, expectations and important outcome measures as well as a reduced fee body composition scan.

Getting baseline measures of where you are at just like having blood tests or jumping on the scales are essential.

We hope you appreciate this new initiative which will allow you to achieve your goals sooner.

New Information Sheet on Akylosing Spondylitis

We’ve just put together an information sheet with the website information on Ankylosing Spondylitis summarised in a printable pdf format.

We hope it will be of use to our patients and the wider public in answering some questions regarding this under-diagnosed condition.

New Refracture Prevention Program

It is well recognised that people who suffer an osteoporotic fracture (minimal trauma fracture) are then at a greatly increased risk of getting further fractures. These patients often present at an hospital emergency room and are treated with surgery or a splint. When the fracture has been set, they are then often just allowed home. The possibility of osteoporosis is not thought of or investigated for, and therefore, not treated.

If you believe you may have suffered a fracture through minimal trauma, BJC Health, at our Parramatta site, has developed a comprehensive Refracture Prevention Program to address your needs

This unique program embraces our Connected Care approach, encompassing;

  • diagnosis
  • medical assessment
  • DXA testing
  • osteoporosis education
  • falls risk analysis followed by gait stability improvement
  • dietary advice
  • continued monitoring

This program is unique in our local community, offering a solution for a large hole in the local public health service, without continuing to wait for either State or Federal Health authorities to act.

If you believe you might have suffered an osteoporotic fracture, you owe it to yourself to consult your doctor and see if you would be a candidate for the Refracture Prevention Program.
