Ankylosing Spondylitis

Ankylosing spondylitis is a condition where the joints of the neck, back and pelvis become inflamed, causing pain and stiffness. It is a chronic type of arthritis and can cause eventual fusion of the spine.

It is most prevalent in young males aged 20-40, and men are generally affected more than women by a ration of about 3:1.

While there is no known cure for AS, there are a range of very powerful, effective treatments for the condition. Physical therapy and exercise, along with medication, form the core of these treatments.
